Talk Your Sh!t Out

When it comes to relationships, there is one key component that keeps it ticking... that component:

Communciation.

Just as the saying goes, "communication is key!" No matter how much we try to avoid it (and heaven knows I try to avoid it sometimes), it is true, but how do you communicate effectively?
  1. Before verbal communication occurs, we should understand that communication is more than words! Body language says volumes. Pay attention to your partners actions, and avoid bad feelings before they even start by responding to the look in her eyes, or his back being turned to you in bed. They're trying to tell you something!
  2. Stop with all the screaming for goodness sakes and talk your disagreements out. You have to learn an effective way to talk about things that you and your partner do not agree on, otherwise, you have no foundation worth building on.
  3. Learn to be flexible. This is probably one of the hardest parts in communicating effectively because it means that sometimes we have to abandon our own truths to walk in someone else's truths. In other words, try to see things from both sides.
Easier said than done right? Yea, I am not going to lie... I have had issues with communicating myself, but that's why I can speak on it, because I have experienced it and am forever working to make it better. That's all anyone can ask right? So what I am asking you is to do the same, whether it is for your current relationship, or future marriage (because let's be honest, some of ya'lls current partners are not going to be the one you marry... did I say that out loud)!
Communication is an art. Most people do not get it right on the first try and they have to practice at it. But as I said before, in order for you to take a plunge into the next phase of your "situation" you MUST master it. Anything less means you cheat yourself and no one likes a cheater!
