If You’re Gonna Be a Golddigger, Dig!

As many of you already know, we have a ton of self proclaimed “gold diggers” running around… but what qualifies you to be a gold digger? I started thinking about all the golddigger women I see on television, blogs, and even around the way. What do you have that is so superior to what I worked for? Does receiving a Louie Vuitton handbag equate to you being a P-I-M-P? You better think again! All I am saying is if you’re going to do it, do it right!

Gold digging has taken so many forms. I see chicks (as I already stated) rocking LV bags and strutting tall and proud in those Louboutin pumps; they think they are calling the shots. WRONG! Then I see chicks who may have stepped it up a notch. They have men paying for their cars and clothes, buying them tables at the club, and going on lavish vacations. That’s better, but these things are still expendable because at the end of the day, all you really have is a man that is buying your time in exchange for material possessions that will depreciate with time. What kind of return on investment is that? Your money line (the man) is making a small down payment on his seasonal chick, yes… that would be you! But not only that, he is doing the same thing with a minimum of 2 other ladies, believe that! If you’re going to dig for gold, get gold! In Layman’s terms, have something to show for it IN THE LONG RUN! So, while I do not condone gold digging, I am going to say this, make sure what you have is yours. The worst scenario is you having something that can be taken away from you. So I bet you’re thinking, “How can I avoid that?” Put some cash aside for a rainy day. Better yet, use it as a down payment on a home, YOUR home. At least you have something that is yours, something that he cannot take away from you. Hell, he just contributed to your long term life fund… lol!

Ultimately, my advice is not to strive to be a gold digger (obviously); my advice is to work for your own so you do not have these problems, but if you’re going to dig, do it right! Don’t let somebody hold you under their thumb because you can’t stand on your own. While the party lasts, make good on it. Take the cash and put it into your future because a pair of Louboutin’s (although they are hot as hell) are not going to put food on your table. Just think about it and be smart!
