A Dose of Your Own Medicine

Picture this… Driving on I-95, windows down, aviators on, sun shining on your face… you know, one of those days when nothing else matters… it is just you, the road and Fabolous and Trey Songz bumping through your speakers… [brakes screeching] “Huh?” I’m talking about the new song that Fabolous released called Last Time. Men, how do you even think that you just have the choice to mess with chicks on the side when you have a good girl at home? Do NOT get me wrong because I highly recommend the CD, in fact, the song… but I don’t understand how men feel that they can have a “side dish,“ but yet, their wifey is supposed to wait on them and have no problems with it; as insinuated in the song. Are you NuTs? Why do men feel they can do this to women?

My guess is, women allow it… and if I have said it once, I have said it a thousand times, “A man will only do to you, what you allow them to do.” It is time for women to take a different approach. If you’re in what is supposed to be a monogamous relationship, don’t put up with it. On the other hand, if you are in a situation that is not so far gone, how about you just ‘flip the script’. Normally, I would not recommend this, but how much can you take? Let’s start giving people a dose of their own medicine.

Now I know there is this dark cloud that hovers over women’s heads with the idea that if a woman does what a man does, she will be labeled a slut, whore, or damaged goods. So let me clarify, I’m not saying go sleep with every “Tom, Dick and Harry,” but stand up for YOU. Tell me what is worse, you being hurt or someone calling you a name? Fact is, sticks and stones will break your bones, but words will never hurt you [how kindergarden of me, I know]. Do you recall the infamous line, “I was only effing them girls, I was gon’ get right back,” you know it, Jay Z. I’m sorry to tell you Jigga, but not even YOU can do that to a girl that knows her worth. So before you step out on your mate, think about it. We don’t want you guys to be sick because you could not resist temptations. Think with your head and not with your… well you know what I am getting at. Fabolous said it best, “What you thought was an upgrade, may just be a seat change.” It usually is!
